Rtor.org’s sponsor, Laurel House, is proud to announce they will be hosting a speaking event for mental health activist and comedian, Kevin Breel. At the ripe age of 19, Kevin bravely took the stage for a TEDx Talk to speak out about his personal struggles with depression and how society’s stigma against people with mental health issues is a problem that needs to be addressed. Kevin Breel has recently published his first book, Boy Meets Depression. Kevin will be speaking on Oct. 5th at the UCONN Stamford Gen Re Auditorium at 6pm.

Thanks so much for posting! Laurel House’s goal in offering this event is to connect as many young adults and their families with mental health services and support as early as they need it and to dispel the stigma around the topic which prevents many from seeking help or discussing their issues.
We were also pretty excited to hear that Kevin was recently named an Influential Millennial by Parade Magazine, among the likes of Malala Yousafzai and Mark Zuckerberg.
